Anthem of Lithuania rang in Lithuania and the world
On July 5th, at 21:00 (Lithuania time) Lithuanians all over the world, rose to sing the “Lithuania, Our Nation” by Vincas Kurdirka. Lithuanians all around the world will sing their national anthem
LITHUANIA, July 5th, 2009 - The crew of the Ambersail, a Volvo 60 class yacht, will be returning to Klaipeda, Lithuania on Sunday, July 5th at 9:00 pm (Lithuania time) at the main port after nine-month journey around the world commemorating Lithuania’s Millenium. To welcome the Ambersail home, we will sing our national anthem – not just in Klaipeda, not just in Lithuania, but throughout all the Lithuanian communities around the world at exactly the same time.

“The Millennium Odyssey” coming back to Europe
On the 15th of May “The Millennium Odyssey” around the world should finally reach the southern shore of Europe – Almeria (Spain) in Lithuanian circumnavigation of the globe. All in all The yacht LTU 1000 “Ambersail” will visit 13 different ports across the Europe and will return to their native shores of Klaipėda on the 5h of July, 2009, for worldwide celebration.

The Honorary Consul of Lithuania in Brazil: "The globalization of patriotism has a name - Ambersail"
“Friendship under sails is not a theater act”. Such statement was written on each of the shirts worn by all the lithuanian sailors aboard the Ambersail boat, revealing all the sense of union, strength and companionship that are essential to life while in the sea. The vessel, having arrived in Brazil on March 7th in Guarujá, a coastal city in the State of San Paulo, has the outstanding mission of traveling across the planet in a both creative and heroic way in order to celebrate the millennium of Lithuania happening in the year 2009.

Lithuanian flag to wave near Cape Horn on February 16
While the Day of Re-establishment of the State of Lithuania approaching, during the press conference that took place at the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 11 February, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Vygaudas Usackas presented the yachters of the sixth crew of the "The Millennium Odyssey" with Lithuania’s tricolour, which they will hoist near Cape Horn on 16 February.
